Last Sunday I enjoyed a great time hiking and bike riding at Seonyu Islands, located on the west coast of South Korea. My friend, Mr. Cho, led me on this grand adventure. We started out early in the morning and drove for an hour and a half to the city of Gunsan where we boarded a ferry for an hour long ride out to the islands.
The first thing we did was rent some bikes to ride around on the many trails and bridges that connected the various islands. Our first stop was at the base of Daejonbang Mountain. We parked our bikes and climbed to the top of the mountain and enjoyed a spectacular view of the ocean and the nearby islands.
From there we rode from island to island, taking in the sights of the ocean, the beaches, the rock formations and the wildlife. Lunch included a stop at a small restaurant serving raw fish, some spicy tofu soup and a bowl of white rice. For dessert we had a Snickers bar.
After a great day of seeing the sights, taking pictures, talking, laughing and relaxing, we boarded the ferry and started our long journey home. At the end of the drive Mr. Cho dropped me off at my apartment. As I walked into our building I was tired, sore and thankful for the chance to share such a fun adventure with a dear friend.
Very jealous, I will have to do some serious searching to interest you in rides around here now! What a great time, enjoy your last weeks in SK
