It was so great to have Becca home with us over Christmas Break. We had fun together as a family in Guam and we enjoyed our time together in the frigid weather of Korea too.
During Christmas Break Becca spent some time re-connecting with friends and she ate some delicious Korean food at Jaeyong's restaurant, Azuma Kimbap. We went there a couple of times over the break. Jaeyoung and his wife are good friends. We have known them for seven years and they have seen both Becca and Sarah grow up from little girls into beautiful young women.
A few days before Becca's return to the USA Jaeyoung and his wife hosted a special dinner for Becca. He made her Kalbi-- a marinated pork rib dish. It was delicious. During the meal Jaeyound shared that in Korean culture Kalbi is a royal dish. In the early days of South Korea food was very scarce and meat was a real delicacy and came at a high price. Kalbi was only served to friends that were highly regarded.
Jaeyoung and his wife served Becca Kalbi. That says a lot.
