We weren't dreaming of a white Christmas, but for a moment we thought we might be having one here in Guam. We were hanging out at the Premier Outlet Mall and getting ready to walk from the mall over to the movie theater to watch the movie, "Lincoln" when it appeared that snow was falling from the sky!
For a second it looked normal to us mountain folk from the Northwest part of the United States, but then we found ourselves a bit discombobulated. Snow in Guam? "Jingle Bell Rock" was blaring from the mall sound system and children and adults were hopping around and screaming with glee in the midst of the snowfall.
The snow machines made for a great photo op and a fun memory of our Christmas adventure. Not only did we experience a snow flurry this Christmas here in Guam, but we also got our hands on some eggnog! For some crazy reason they don't sell eggnog in South Korea so it has been six years since we have had any eggnog at Christmas. We thought this was going to be the seventh year without eggnog, but we were pleasantly surprised to see eggnog lining the shelves of the dairy cases here in Guam.
We bought the nog and opened it up in the parking lot--passing the carton around between us....sad but true. Snow and eggnog is Guam!
Merry Christmas.
