Just over three years ago I posted this blog entry stating that I had been accepted into the Drew University Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) program. I am thrilled to now post that I have completed
the degree and am thankful that I had the opportunity to graduate from Drew University last weekend.
Six days ago Dina and I flew from South Korea to New Jersey (that is a long flight) and on Friday night we attended the D.Min. banquet and hooding ceremony. On Saturday morning I participated in the Drew University 2011 Commencement Exercise where they conferred upon me the degree of Doctor of Ministry. The graduation ceremony was for me both a meaningful time and a memorable event.
In reality, my D.Min. degree took me four years to complete because of some prerequisite courses that I needed to take prior to my admittance into the program. The process of classes and the writing of the final project/paper was both fulfilling and at times long and arduous. In the midst of both my full-time job and the demands of the degree there were points in the process where I wondered if I was going to have the stamina to complete the program. I couldn't have done it without the support of Dina, Becca and Sarah. They own a good part of my degree as they have given me the gifts of patience, support, understanding and love throughout the process. I am happy and thankful to be finished
with the degree and I think they are glad that I am done too! I pray that God will use my talents, learning and life for His glory.
I can hardly wait to dive into the stack of books that have been on "hold" for the last three years. The learning never ends...
