Last Friday night we had an amazing experience. We boarded a bus to Seoul and attended a Cirque Du Soleil show. The Cirque Du Soleil is a circus that features no animals--only people--acrobats who are highly skilled and the production is a show that revolves around a theme. The presentation that we saw was titled, "Quidam." The show is presented in a large tent and utilizes elaborating lighting, staging and sets to suspend all of the acrobatic ropes and hoops.
The circus program revolves around a theme or story and is accentuated by a live band that is amazing. The "Quidam" program that we saw was a thoughtful look at the creative power and meaning within each and every "ordinary" person on this earth. It touched on the idea that aside from all of the "deadening" and distracting media around us and beyond all of the worries and striving there is a creative life of relationship to be lived with others and the world around us.
The Cirque Du Soleil tent was located near the Seoul Olympic Stadium (the home of the 1988 Summer Olympics). We accompanied a TCIS Theater Arts Class to the program presentation. It is hard to put into words the experience that we had. It was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. The skills of the performers were seemingly unreal. We had great seats (2nd row) and felt like we were right in the middle of all of the action.
As I watched the performers, listened to the music, considered the elaborate design of the program and found myself captivated in the story I couldn't help but see the Glory of God in it all. The human creation is truly amazing and to think,..... God created man and woman in His image. Wow.
wow, that sounds incredible!! I have always wanted to see one of their shows! I've seem some of it on tv before, but i bet it is tons better in person. Glad you had fun

Hey!
I was sick that day but it was still really fun because I went with my sister and my friend Alexandra. We had KFC and had lots of fun on the bus too!
