The volleyball season ended on Saturday and basketball tryouts started on Monday afternoon. Becca and Sarah both turned out for the TCIS girls' basketball team and both of them are playing on the varsity team this year. It is fun to see the sisters on the court together. They are having fun and already have a few wins under their belts this season. Becca is number 3 and Sarah is number 30. Last Wednesday the TCIS girls lost a tough game to Daegu American High School by three points. On Friday they play the ever tough, Seoul American High School. The military base teams are always a challenge, but it makes for great competition.
Along with the military bases and their Department of Defense school teams in South Korea comes the "Stars and Stripes" sports news that is maintained by a guy named Dave Ornauer. He has been covering high school sports in South Korea for twenty five years. It was fun to read this little piece on his sports blog the other day.
"Though Taejon Christian International doesn’t travel to Far East tournaments out of country, administration ought to at least consider sending the girls to Misawa. Alex Zickefoose and Becca Roberts are the best pair of girls athletes the school has had in 25 years."
Yeah! Go Dragons!
