The volleyball season has come to an end, but the records stand, the trophies shine and the memories live on. The TCIS girls' volleyball team is a part of the Korean American Interscholastic Activities Conference (KAIAC) which is made up of nine teams in South Korea. Becca and Sarah played on the TCIS girls' volleyball team and Dina served as the assistant coach.
The team did an amazing job this year posting a 10-2 season record and finishing 2nd place in the league standings. Plus, TCIS competed in the end of the season league tournament and played in the championship game against Seoul American High School (U.S. Army Base School). TCIS played hard, but lost to Seoul American, leaving them in second place in the tournament--which isn't too shabby. Becca was injured in the first match of the championship game and went to the hospital with a severly sprained ankle. She made it back to the gym in time for the trophy and awards ceremony. The TCIS girls brought home two second place trophies and Becca brought home a medal as an All KAIAC Tournament Player. It was a great season of TCIS volleyball!
About a week ago the TCIS Girls' Volleyball team participated in the Asia Pacific Activities Conference (APAC) big 12 volleyball tournament that was held in Shanghai, China. Becca and Sarah played in the tournament, Dina served as the assistant coach and I (Ryan) went along as the one fan.
It was a blast. Shanghai is an amazing city. The girls played three games a day for three days and ended up seventh place in the twelve team tournament. Becca had a great tournament and was named to the all tournament team. We had a great time in Shanghai.
On one night they are on the volleyball court and the next they are singing in the choir. It is such a joy to watch Becca and Sarah enjoy all kinds of co-curricular activities together. The Fall Choir Concert was wonderful!
Wow, the fall season is flying by and so has the volleyball season. Becca and Sarah have both played on the TCIS girls' varsity volleyball team this year and Dina (their mother) has been the assistant coach. The girls have had an amazing--history making--season. They have gone 10-2 and placed second in the league! Go Dragons! It was a great season.
Here are some pictures of Becca's last home game....her "senior" volleyball game. It was Levi Miller's last home volleyball game at TCIS too. Levi and Becca have know each other a long time--it is fun to see them enjoying these high school memories together--and in South Korea. The Senior night was a blast. They brought out the new Dragon mascot for the senior night volleyball game. It was a great night, full of lots of smiles and a few tears from this old dad.
I am days (maybe weeks) behind in my blogging, but how can I not write a random post about this kid?! I love her so much. She is Sarah, "my princess." She is so fun, and funny. She is talented and brings joy, laughter, care and compassion to so many people. She has picked up the guitar recently and she is good and getting better every day. I "borrowed" these pictures from her Facebook account. I liked them, I like her and I share it all with you. I love this kid.
