Proud and Thankful Dad

I (Ryan) don't make it to our school's high school chapel service every week, but I love it when I do and I find both of my daughters involved in the music and worship portion of the gathering.  In this video Becca is down in the left hand corner of the screen playing the piano and singing and Sarah is playing the drums.  I am a proud and thankful father.

In Process

A few posts ago I mentioned that Dina was doing some quilting here in South Korea.  Well, her quilt is coming along and it is going to be beautiful. Here is a sneak peak of a work in process.

Basketball Season is Over

A couple of weeks ago the girls' basketball season ended with the KAIAC leage tournament at Seoul American High School (SAHS).  SAHS is located on the U.S. Military Base.  We all had a fun time on the base and at the tournament.  Sarah got the opportunity to join the varsity team for the KAIAC tournament so it was especially fun for Sarah's and Becca's parents to see them both playing on the same team.

We stayed in the Dragon Hill Hotel on the base.  It is a very nice hotel that has four different Western restaurants in it along with a very nice donut shop/coffee shop.  It was almost like being back in America.

The tournament was a tough one for the Lady Dragons of TCIS.  They lost their first game of the tournament by one basket to a team that they beat both times they played them in the regular season.  The TCIS girls weathered the loss and disappointment and came back to win their next game and take fifth place in the tournament.  It was a great season and we are so proud of Becca and Sarah.

Today Robin and Leona Roberts have been married for 45 years.  Let us all celebrate!  Their marriage and lasting commitment to one another is a great blessing that ripples out beyond them to their children, grandchildren, relatives, friends and future generations.

 

Dear Mom and Dad,

You are an inspiration.  Thanks for your love and dedication to one another over the past 45 years.  Your marriage and commitment affords all of us a glimpse of the precious and glorious covenant love of God. 

As you have committed to and invested in your relationship with one another you have positively shaped the lives and destinies of those around you.  I am so proud of you and I thank God for you.

Girls' Bball at APAC

A few weeks ago the TCIS girls' basketball team went to Beijing, China to participate in the Asia Pacific Activities Conference (APAC) girls' basketball tournament.  Becca is on the varsity team and went on the trip.  While in Beijing the team visited the Great Wall of China (this is Becca's second time to visit this wonder of the world) but for the most part the team spent the bulk of their time playing basketball. 

The TCIS girls' team made history by placing second in the tournament.  The boys' team took second too!  It was a good time for all and a great memory for Becca.  All of the parents and students at TCIS were proud of the teams and held a big welcome home party for them upon their arrival at the school in Daejeon.

My Sweethearts

Here are my three sweethearts on Valentine's Day in South Korea.  For Valentine's Day I (Ryan) got Becca and Sarah new sweatshirts and Dina a Starbucks mug that she had her eye on.  I am thankful for the chance to spend Valentine's Day with my three beautiful girls.

Birthday Girl

Today is Becca's 17th birthday.  It is hard to believe that she is that old.  My how time flies.  We are blessed to have her in our family.  Other than a few more teeth, she hasn't changed much from this baby picture.  She is still lots of fun, she is full of joy and laughter and she is as cute as ever.  We love Becca and celebrate her seventeen years of life.
