We spent five full days with the 90 kids at the orphanage in India. On a couple of those days we were able to help out and serve as teachers in the makeshift school that they held at the orphanage.
The schooling at the orphanage was primarily for the kids living at the orphanage, but there were a few neighborhood kids who attended school at the orphanage at a very minimal cost. The students from outside the orphanage would wear uniforms to school.
I absolutely loved spending a couple of days teaching a group of fifth grade students (I will share pics later). At the end of one of our lessons I was lucky enough to have a cute little girl from the kindergarten class wander over to my table, pull up a chair beside me
and begin to show me that she could write all of the letters of the alphabet and all of her numbers, 1-10. It was a nice surprise to say the least.
She is so precious...
this is so awesome! praise God for you and your family..I'm living vicariously through you!
